WALLINGFORD � Robert J. Heilman, Jr., 61, departed this life on November 5, 2009 at the MidState Medical Center after a heroic battle with cancer. Robert was born in Meriden on January 16, 1948, a son of Robert and Nancy (Young) Heilman, Sr. of Wallingford. He spent is career building furniture and was the proprietor of The Pine Shoppe. He was a member of the Department 56 Club and enjoyed clamming at Leetes Island in his free time. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Nancy Heilman Cavanaugh and her husband Michael of Meriden; three nieces, Kristen Bellantuono and her husband Paul of Bristol, Michele Ruggiero and her husband Ron of Meriden, and Lisa Cavanaugh-Perez of Meriden; as well as his grand nieces and nephews: Madyson, RJ, Joshua, Kaylee and Michael.
