Obituary of Betty Joan Bjorkdahl

Betty Bjorkdahl, 91, of Cheshire departed this life on November 2, 2017 at Midstate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of 62 years to the late Roger Bjorkdahl.

Betty was born on March 30, 1926 in Chicago, IL to the late Irwin and Hazel (Ditzengberger) Coon. As a young girl she grew up in the Rogers Park area of Chicago. For a while, she enjoyed working for Fahey Medical Center in IL. After she and Roger married in 1947, they traveled throughout the United States, living in various locations. They eventually came to settle in Cheshire, CT. Betty was a vibrant soul, who loved life and her family was of the utmost importance to her. Her gracious nature touched many hearts.

Betty will be sadly missed by her three sons; Roger Bjorkdahl and wife his Chikako, John Bjorkdahl and his wife Jane and Robert Bjorkdahl and his wife Teri. She will also survive in the memory of her four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
