Obituary of Constance Marie Roy
Constance Roy, 81, of Wallingford departed this life on November 5, 2017 at Masonicare Health Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Roger E. Roy.
Constance was born in Madawaska, Maine on May 27, 1936 to the late Leonard and Caroline (Ouellette) Cote, and was one of 16 children in a farming family. She moved to Connecticut at the age of 18, where she met her future husband and father of their three children. She remained in Connecticut for the rest of her life, raising her three sons: Brian Roy of Seattle, Washington, Michael Roy of Orland, Maine, and Ronald Roy of Ladson, South Carolina. She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her children, Constance is also survived by seven brothers: Reggie, Gerard, Claud, Romeo, Armen, David and Don. She is predeceased by four sisters: Fernande (Fern), Anita, Claudette, and Joanne; and four brothers: Valere, Roland, Bernard, and Marcel.
Many years ago, Constance quoted in her high school yearbook that "the darkest night cannot extinguish the light of a single candle." She will always be remembered as the calm and steady light of her family and will be missed dearly.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden. Interment will immediately follow at St. Laurent Cemetery in Meriden. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
