Obituary of Dorothy "Barbara" Totz

WALLINGFORD - Dorothy " Barbara" (Foucault) Totz, 85, of Wallingford, beloved wife of the late James Totz, departed this life on December 16, 2017 at Masonicare Health Center.

Dorothy was born in Wallingford,CT on March 29, 1932 to the late Joseph and Anna (Sass) Foucault. She was a graduate of Holy Trinity School and later Lyman Hall class of 1949. She was employed for several years at International Silver and later was a homemaker taking care of her family. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, knitting and painting. She was an avid gardener. She was also a member of the Bonsai Society of Greater New Haven where she volunteered as a librarian and greeter. Dorothy was a communicant of Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford. Most of all, Dorothy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma.

Dorothy will be sadly missed by her three children: Linda DeFrancesco (Joseph) of Northford; Michael Totz of Mansfield Center and Matthew Totz (Teng) of Meriden. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Joseph DeFrancesco (Ida); Michael DeFrancesco (Corine); Darren DeFrancesco (Suzanne); Alex DeFrancesco; Nathaniel Totz (Liza); Andrew Totz; Patrick Kay and Jeremy Kay (Anji). She will also be missed dearly by her nine great-granchildren: Bella, Trent, Joseph, William, Farah, Vincent, Riley, Lena and Rea. Besides her husband, Dorothy is preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Foucault.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday evening, December 20th, from 4-8pm at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 21st, at 10:00am at Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.
