Martha T. Campbell, 92 of Wallingford, Wife of the late John R. Campbell departed this life on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. Martha was born on March 8, 1917, in New Haven CT, daughter of the late Samuel C. and Annie (Ewell) Russell. Martha lived most of her life in East Haven moving to Wallingford in 2002 to be closer to her family. Before her retirement, she had been employed by Sargent Manufacturing and had formerly been a member of the Old Stone Church in East Haven. Martha will be most remembered for her spirit. She is survived by her son, Samuel R. Thompson of Wallingford. "Nana" to Debra T. Ripa (Guy) and Russell T. Thompson of Wallingford and their children Nicholas A. Ripa and Jessica E. Thompson. "Grandma" to Kelly Ann Campbell Magee (Scott) and their children Owen, Aaron and Noah. Following Martha's wishes all services will be private. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street, Wallingford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
