Obituary of Dennis Cavanaugh
Cumberland, RI - Dennis Andrew Cavanaugh passed quietly Sunday morning, January 24, 2010 at his home at the age of 50. He was born on December 14, 1959 to Eleanor and Andrew Cavanaugh and brother to Michael, who were predeceased. Dennis was married to his beloved MaryAnn since 1994.
Dennis was an avid cyclist, athlete and fisherman. He grew up in Wallingford and attended Wilcox Technical High School in Meriden in the Drafting department. He worked as a draftsman and designer for 23 years in Wallingford, CT and Simpsonville, SC for Stone Safety and for the past 10 years in Westwood, MA for Kinki Sharyo.
He loved working on cars, auto racing, playing guitar and listening to music.
Dennis touched many lives and all who knew him were proud to count him as a friend.
He was a wonderful son to a mother who had lost both a husband and a child at an early age. He was a loving husband to MaryAnn and they were devoted to each other.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary Ann of Cumberland, RI, along with his aunt Audrey Levi and her husband Hal of Branford, CT, and an uncle Edward Cavanaugh of Hamden, CT. He leaves his mother-in-law Nellie Kalinowski of Middletown, CT along with two cousins, Debra Levi and Diane Levi-Verderame both of Branford, CT along with two sister-in-laws: Chris Zigman of Chester, CT, and Karen Casper of Middletown, CT in addition to a brother-in-law, Tom Zigman of Chester, CT along with niece Michelle Zigman and nephews James and Todd McGrath and best bud Lindsey.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 10:00 am at the chapel of the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford, CT. Interment will follow at the In Memoriam Cemetery. It is suggested that contributions in his memory be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, #301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691 or Mercy Corp's Haiti Relief Fund, Dept W, PO Box 2669, Portland OR 97208.
