Obituary of Lawry Click

SUFFIELD - Lawry Click, 88, of Suffield and formerly of Cheshire, CT, beloved husband of the late Alice Click, departed this life on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Suffield House. Lawry was born on February 8, 1921 in Detroit, MI son of the late Guy and Brenda (Lawry) Click. He served as a Merchant Marine from 1937-1946. He was employed as a Mechanical Engineer with CHR Industries until his retirement in 1983. In his spare time he enjoyed bird watching and gardening. He also built the family home in Cheshire and later a vacation home in New Hampshire. Mostly he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his children: Douglas Click and his wife Lynn of Enfield and Jeanette Sawicki and her husband Richard of Bozrah. He also leaves two sisters: Margaret Shaw and Ruth Warring both of Michigan. He also leaves 5 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother, James Click. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service to be held on Thursday, October 22nd at 11 AM at In Memoriam Cemetery with Rev. Dean Warburton of the Wallingford 1St Congregational Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance, 205 Bridge Street, Suffield, CT 06078 or the American Heart Association, 2550 Rte 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902 or online at www.AmercianHeart.org. The B. C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements.
