Obituary of Richard G. Maurice

Richard G. Maurice, 77, of Meriden, departed this life on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at his home. He was the loving husband of Norine (Williams) Maurice. Richard was born on February 27, 1932, in Lawrence, MA, a son of Aime and Lillian (Becotte) Maurice. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea with the Seventh Division, Seventeenth Regiment and Second Battalion. He was a Pork Chop Hill combat veteran and was awarded the Combat Wreath medal. Before his retirement, he had been employed by Meriden Manufacturing. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his sons: Richard Maurice and his wife Fay of Meriden, Daniel Maurice and his wife Erika of Phoenix, AZ and Michael Maurice and his wife Janet of Trumbull; his grandchildren, Ethan, Reid and Hailey Maurice and Casey, Kristen and Chelsea Hopkins; a brother, Ron Maurice and his wife Lorraine of Cheshire; and a sister-in-law, Helen Maurice of Vernon. He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Maurice. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street, Wallingford from 9:00 - 10:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Holy Angels, 585 Main Street, South Meriden at 11:00 am. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Mary�s Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
