Barbara A. Henry, 57, of Wallingford, CT passed away peacefully Monday, June 20, 2016 after a brief, yet courageous battle with cancer and kidney disease, with her sisters by her side. Barbara was born in Stamford, CT on June 24, 1957 to the late Francis C. and Shirley M. (Bowne) Gillis. Barbara grew up in Ridgefield, attended Ridgefield High School, enjoyed riding her ponies, loved playing the organ, spending time with her family, and her 'BFF' Kibby, her pet beagle who passed a few years earlier. Barbara moved to Lititz, PA for a short time where she met the late Dale Henry. They returned to Connecticut and were married shortly thereafter. After the passing of her husband, Dale, Barbara moved from Danbury, CT to Wallingford, CT to be closer to her sisters. This is where she met David, who truly loved Barbara and showed her how to enjoy life once again. Barbara will surely be missed by her sister Lynn Smith and her husband Steven, of Wallingford, CT, her sister Jeanne Mason and her husband Perry, of Meriden, CT, along with several nieces, nephews, her true friend (sister) Linda Bunblasky of Danbury, CT, and cousins, along with her loving companion David Blakeslee, also of Wallingford, CT. The family will have a brief graveside service on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM, at St. John's Cemetery, 400 Christian St, Wallingford, CT 06492.
