David F. Sherwood, 94, of Wallingford, departed this life surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 14, 2009 at the MidState Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Eleanor (Hallock) Sherwood for 55 years. David was born on November 20, 1914, in New Fairfield, CT, a son of the late Friend and Edith (Patterson) Sherwood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II throughout Europe and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wallingford. Prior to his retirement, he was the proprietor of Sherwood Metal Spinning. In addition to his wife, David will be sadly missed by a son, Russell Sherwood of New Haven and his former wife Kim of Northford; three daughters, Bonnie True and her husband George of Meriden, Nancy Walker and her husband Richard of Meriden, and Marilyn Bolles and her husband Donald of Wallingford; a sister, Bertha Bruey of Danbury; and 14 grandchildren, Michelle Lucier, Michael and Matthew Blacha, Nicholas, Allen, Stacey, and Andrew Sherwood, Amanda Musso, Carrie, Kevin and Jonathan Walker, and Sarah, Katie and David Bolles; 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Sherwood and a sister, Dorothy Howard. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 (TODAY) at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street, Wallingford from 5:00 � 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 17th at 10:00 am.
