Obituary of William Toth
William Toth, 88, of Meriden, departed this life on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford. He was the loving husband of the late Marjorie (Nordgren) Toth.
William was born on February 22, 1921, in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late William and Lena Toth.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. For over fifty years he had been employed by Wallace Silversmiths in Wallingford. He was recognized in national publications, including the New York Times, for his skills and expertise in the silver trade. He had retired as head designer at the age of 77. He was a Mason and a member of the Compas Lodge #9 in Wallingford.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Donna Toth Coursey and her husband Jack of Meriden; three grandchildren: Kevin Coursey, Robin Bunch and Shannon Poudrier; three great grandchildren: Jacob Coursey, Paige Coursey, and Hayden Poudrier; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Alan Toth and his sisters, Irene Wargo and Barbara Combs.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, September 4, 2009 at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street, Wallingford from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. A Church Service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 10:00 am at the First United Methodist Church, 941 Old Rock Hill Rd., Wallingford. Burial will follow at the In Memoriam Cemetery.
