WALLINGFORD - Richard Smail, 91, of Ashlar Village, peacefully departed this life surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford. He was the loving husband of Lenore (Pochini) Smail. Richard was born on March 16, 1918, in Blue Mound, IL, a son of the late Franklin and Alice (Gelsinger) Smail. Prior to his retirement, he had been the Chief Financial Officer for Bradley Memorial Hospital. He had been active in Masonry and had been a member of Wolcott Lodge #60. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, reading, and was an avid walker. In addition to his wife, he will be sadly missed by his daughter: Sara Barnes of Wallingford; his grandchildren: Dominic Barnes of Wallingford, Michael Barnes, formerly of Wallingford, and Theresa Rodrigues and her husband Carlos of Wallingford; and his great grandchildren: Cevannah, Antonio Rodrigues, Skyla Barnes. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm. A funeral service led by the Rev.
