Obituary of Helena Carrozza Stevens
WALLINGFORD � Helena Carrozza Stevens, 90, formerly of Wallingford, and beloved wife of the late Robert Stevens who predeceased her in 1991, departed this life on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at the Coccomo Memorial Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving family.
Helena was born on February 11, 1919 in New York, NY, daughter of the late Frank and Nancy (Lucido) Carrozza. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, needlepoint and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Robert L. Stevens Jr. of Meriden, Howard P. Stevens and his wife Jill from Littleton, CO, Kathleen Stevens and Doreen Parker and her husband George of Southington, CT. Her grandchildren, Kim Horton of Southington, CT, Amy Horton of Meriden, CT Jennifer Stevens of Colorado, Heather Bolte and her husband Josh of Colorado, Nicole Ballingham and her husband Jeff of Germany, Natasha Danielak of Southington, CT and Michael Stevens of Germany. Along with her great-grandchildren, Victoria Leon, Brendan & Breanna Formanski and Michael & Katie Jones. She is survived also by one brother, Frank P. Carrozza and his wife Lucille of Levitown, New York and sister-in law Jean Carrozza of Middletown, New York and several nieces and nephews. And friend and neighbor since 1961 Rose DeNigris. She is pre-deceased by her brothers, Salvatore and Joseph Carrozza, sisters Rose Carrozza and Frances Vizzini.
Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, August 29th from 10:00 AM � 1:00 PM at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 1:00 PM on Saturday. Interment will take place at a later date in Washington. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Meriden Animal Hospital for the benefit of the Meriden Humane Society, 607 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450.
