Obituary of Stanley C. Novak

WALLINGFORD � Stanley C. Novak Sr., of Wallingford, beloved husband of Ethel (Horvath) Novak, departed this life on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford. Stanley was born on December 5, 1916 in Wallingford, CT, son of the late John and Rose (Tokar) Novak. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served through the duration of World War II in five campaigns in the European theatre. Stan worked for many years in the auto repair business until his retirement. He was associated with Novak�s Garage in Wallingford for many years after leaving the Army. He was also a member of the Wallingford V.F.W. In his spare time he enjoyed extensive traveling. In addition to travel adventures, heenjoyed gardening, and was a big sports fan who enjoyed the Boston Red Sox and following UCONN Men�s and Women�s Basketball. He will be sadly missed by his wife Ethel of Wallingford and their two children: Stanley Novak Jr. of North Haven, and Susan Turenne and her husband John of Wallingford. He also leaves two beloved grandchildren, John and Sarah Turenne both of Wallingford. He is preceded in death by his brothers: John, Walter, and Charles Novak. There will be no calling hours. A public Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford on Friday, August 14th at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. John�s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Mid State Medical Center or the charity of one�s choice. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements.
