Wallingford - Robert E. Lobner, 82, died Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford. He was the loving husband of Lorraine (McCluskey) Lobner for sixty years. He was born June 13, 1927 in West Haven, CT, a son of the late Jens and Ruth (Miller) Lobner. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Lobner had been a police officer for Hamden Police Department where he had served for over thirty years. Bob was active in the Masonic Day Spring Lodge #30 where he had been a member for over fifty years. He enjoyed woodworking, cross stitching and gardening. He had been a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Wallingford where he had previously served as an usher. In addition to his wife, he will be missed by his son, Stephen Lobner and his wife Catherine of Hamden; two daughters: Kristine Russo of Naples, FL and Leanne Anderson and her husband John; his grandchildren: Jenifer Oliphant, Daniel, Colleen and Erik Lobner and Jesica; his great grandchildren: Jack, Alex, Michael and Brandon; a brother: Harvey Lobner of West Haven; and a sister, Lillian Buckley of Hamden. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 9:00 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 65 N. Main St., Wallingford.
