Frank (Doc) Holloran, 85, of Pilgrims' Harbor, Wallingford, departed this life on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at his home. Frank was born on October 20, 1923, in New York, NY, son of the late John and Frances (Miller) Holloran. After graduating from college with a degree in animal husbandry, Doc farmed in a number of states before owning his own farm in Virginia where he proudly lived off of the land by producing his own food, heat and electricity. Upon his retirement, he relocated to St. Croix where he enjoyed the beautiful weather and many friends. Two years ago, he moved to Connecticut to be near his family. He will be sadly missed by his sister, Frances Boyd of Wallingford, as well as 13 nieces and nephews, and 30 great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother John Stephen Holloran III. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Masonicare Home Health and Hospice for all of their care and attention. Burial at Cider Brook Cemetery in Avon will be private. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
