Obituary of Edith H. Otto

WALLINGFORD - Edith Heinze Otto, 90, of Ashlar Village, formerly of Yalesville and NC died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford. She was the wife of the late Carl S. Otto. She was born in Clarksburg, WV, April 16, 1918 a daughter of the late Henry Arthur and Helene Devore Heinze. Edith was a graduate of Allegheny College. She had been a very active member of the Yalesville United Methodist Church for over 30 years, was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She was very active in the Girl Scouts and was a past president of Laurel Trail Council and a member of CT Trail Girl Scouts. She is survived by a son-in-law, Dr. R. Lee Webb of West Chester, PA, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Webb, and two brothers, James H. Heinze and retired Navy Commander Arthur D. Heinze. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 11:00 am in the Hartog Activities Center at Ashlar Village, Cheshire Road, Wallingford. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. If friends so desire, gifts in her memory may be made to the Yalesville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 8 New Place Street, Yalesville 06492. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford is in charge of arrangements.
