Obituary of Joseph Alphonse Bielak

Wallingford - Joseph A. Bielak, 71, of Wallingford, departed this life on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Marathon Health Care in New Haven. Joe was born on March 13, 1937 in Meriden, CT, son of the late Francis and Nellie (Jarosz) Bielak. Joe was an Army Veteran serving overseas in Germany. He worked as a letter carrier for more than 35 years with the U.S. Postal Service in Wallingford. He was a lifelong communicant of Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Wallingford as well as a member of the V.F.W. Post 591, American Legion, and the Wallingford Polish National Alliance. He was an umpire with the Wallingford Recreational Softball League, and Wallingford School System. He will be sadly missed by his three sons: John Ritchotte and his wife Jennifer of Wallingford, Dennis Bielak and his wife Ann of North Haven, and Peter Bielak of Dover, NH. He also leaves four grandchildren, Courtney Ritchotte, John Ritchotte, Shanna Bielak, and Madalyn Bielak and two nephews, Benjamin Bielak of MA, and Ross Bielak of CO. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Benjamin and Walter Bielak. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, November 11th from 4 - 7 PM at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 12th at 10:00 AM at Ss. Peter and Paul's Church in Wallingford. Interment will follow in Ss. Peter and Paul's Cemetery in Wallingford. Those attending the mass are asked to meet directly at church. Memorial contributions may be directed to Ss. Peter and Paul's Church, 139 N. Orchard Street, Wallingford, CT 06492.
