MERIDEN � Dorothy M. Rider, 95, of 845 Paddock Ave., formerly of 100 North Turnpike Road, entered into rest on Oct. 31, 2008, at Meriden Center. She was born in Wallingford, Nov. 13, 1912, a daughter of the late George and Maude Curtis Rider. Ms. Rider worked at General Motors New Departure until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wallingford, Wallingford Grange #33 and had been very active with the Wallingford Senior Center. She is survived by a nephew, Kenneth Rider of North Haven; and two nieces, Gail Retzer of Wallingford and Janet Kaliszewski of Durham; and many grandnieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be at Center Street Cemetery, Wallingford. There are no calling hours. It is suggested that gifts in her memory be made to either the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016, or the Connecticut Autism Spectrum Resource Center, 101 N. Plains Industrial Rd., Harvest Park, Building 1A, Wallingford, CT 06492. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
