Obituary of Eleanor May Stevens
WALLINGFORD � Eleanor May Stevens, 93, of Wallingford passed away on October 16, 2008 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the widow of the late William D. Stevens Sr.
She was born on September 9, 1915 in Meriden, daughter of the late William and Teresa Dorau and Sarah Reily-Dorau. Mrs. Stevens was a life long member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Wallingford, had served on the Altar Committee and was a member of the Ladies Guild.
Mrs. Stevens is survived by two brothers and one sister, William Dorau, Robert Dorau and Sarah (Sadie) Wolfgang. She was the beloved mother and mother-in-law of Louis and Mary Lou Parisi, John and Ann Marie Stevens, William and Ruth Stevens and was the dearly cherished grandmother of Mark Parisi, John and Christine Wodjewodka, Joseph and Wendy Doolan, Joseph and Amy Medina, Timothy and Gina Kupec, John and Suzanne Stevens, William and Carol Stevens, Dean and Michelle Hardesty and Dennis and Sara Blake. She leaves 13 loving great-grandchildren, Valerie Parisi, Mark Parisi, Jr., Tucker Doolan, Reagan Doolan, Jamie Lynn Medina, Jacob Stevens, Tyler Stevens, Timothy Kupec Jr., Brandon Stevens, Brianna Stevens, Brooke Stevens, Ethan Hardesty and Lauren Hardesty.
Her family will receive friends and relatives at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford on Sunday, October 19th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 20th at 10:15 am from the funeral home with a service at 11:00 am at the Zion Lutheran Church, 235 Pond Hill Rd., Wallingford. Burial will be held at the In Memoriam Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the Zion Lutheran Church of Wallingford.
