Wallingford - Mary Jane Buck, 83, of Wallingford, departed this life on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Elim Park Baptist Home in Cheshire. Mary Jane was born on May 22, 1925, in Crawford, OH, daughter of the late Fred and Stella (Auck) Buck. She attended the Grant Hospital School of Nursing in Columbus, OH, where she obtained her training to become a registered nurse in 1946. During the course of her career she was employed with the Eye Physicians of Central Connecicut, Meriden Hospital in the OB Ward, and Coldwater Hospital located in Michigan as the head nurse of Obstretics. Mary Jane was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Meriden for over 50 years. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and was known by friends to be "jack of all trades". She is survived by her Aunt, Virginia Blizzard of OH, and her cousins, Donald Blizzard of OH, and Marvin Ulmer of VA, along with her special friends Barbara and Sharon Main of OH, Ed and Joan Dymon of Meriden, and Bill and Shirley Hager of Meriden. She is preceded in death by her cousin, David Blizzard. All services will be private and there will be no calling hours. Her remains will be transported to Ohio to be buried with her family.
