Wallingford - Howard Swatkins, 92, of Wallingford, beloved husband for 60 years of Charlotte (Germain) Swatkins, departed this life on Friday, August 15, 2008 at the Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford. Howard was born on July 8, 1916, in Meriden, CT, son of the late Ernest and May (Howard) Swatkins. Howard was employed as a Manufacturing Engineer at Pratt & Whitney for over 35 years until his retirement in 1982. He will be sadly missed by his wife Charlotte, of Wallingford, and three children: Robin Hunter and her husband Robert of Durham, Dale Swatkins of Guilford, and Pamela Swatkins of VT. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, Jesse, Jeffrey, Molly, Brian, Henry, Melanie, and Tyler. Howard is preceded in death by 4 sisters, Margaret, Ada, Evelyn, and Olive. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 11 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Wallingford. Interment will follow in the St. Paul's Church Memorial Garden. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to: Masonic Charity Foundation, P.O.
