Obituary of James Tanch

James Tanch, 95, departed this life on May 3, 2016 at his home in the presence of his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (Gaetano) Tanch. James was born in Wallingford on April 12, 1921 to Louis and Eleanor (Bakos) Tanch. He worked for Allegheny -Ludlum for 36 years until his retirement in 1985. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the UConn Womens' team. He also had a great love for the game of golf. James is survived by: son Brian Tanch and his wife Kim of Wallingford; sister-in-law Lillian Gaetano; his special friend Jean Lincoln; and the parents of his daughter-in-law, his dear friends Rick and Maryon Lindholm and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Louis and Elmer and his sisters: Irene Fekete, Martha Fekete, Julia Kavanagh, Margaret Kosnoff, and Helen Kosa. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 7th from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford. A service in celebration of his life will immediately follow at 2:00 PM.
