NORTHFORD - Irene Drozdz, 97, of Northford, beloved wife of the late Louis Drozdz, departed this life on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Brook Hollow Healthcare Center in Wallingford. Irene was born in Northford, June 7, 1911 daughter of the late Charles E. and Lena (Gribus) Ferguson. Until her retirement, she worked as an Inspector for the Federal Paper Board Company. Irene was a life long resident of Northford and a member of the Northford Congregational Church and the North Branford Senior Center. She will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Cynthia Wirtz of Wallingford, Sylvia Belomizi and her husband Leo of Northford and Kathryn Boynton and her husband Harold of Wallingford, a brother, Lowell Ferguson of West Pawlet, VT, two sisters, Juliet Kumnick of Tallahassee, FL and Edith Beckley of Wallingford, 8 grandchildren, Robin Helstrom, Kristine Sabatucci, Holly Helstrom, Steven Belomizi, Linda Shatkyvich, Elizabeth Belomizi, Nancy Perry, and Suzanne Adams and 25 great-grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Harry Leete, five brothers, Fred, Floyd, Earl, Tracy and Philo Ferguson, 4 sisters, Alma Bayne, Doris Messier, Gertrude Salg, Elsie Kastukevich and a granddaughter, Donna Helstrom. Relatives and friends may call during visitation at B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford, on Thursday, July 24th from 5-8 PM. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, July 25th at 10:00 AM at the Northford Congregational Church. Interment will follow at the New Northford Cemetery.
