Obituary of Elle Ohr

Yalesville- Elle Ohr, 73, of Yalesville, beloved wife of 51 years to William L. Ohr, departed this life on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at her home. Elle was born on September 19, 1934 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Anna and Stanley Bakanas of Naugatuck. She was a graduate of Crosby High School and later attended Bryant College in Providence, RI. Elle worked for the Superior Court GA7 as a court clerk for 15 years until her retirement. She resided in Wallingford and was an avid golfer and member of the Wallingford Country Club where she won the club championship four times. She will be sadly missed by her husband William Ohr of Yalesville and daughter Linda King and her husband Vincent of Pearl River, NY, along with two grandchildren: Sean and Brian King. She also leaves a brother Robert Bakanas and his wife Kathy of South Yarmouth, MA along with one brother-in-law, Andrew L. Ohr Jr. of Wallingford, in addition to four nieces, Karin Pyskaty, Joan Bravo, Cara Gagnon, and Katie Grealish. She is preceded in death by her son, William L. Ohr Jr, and sister-in-law, Christine Ohr. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, July 5, 2008 from 10 AM - 11 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church,65 N. Main Street, Wallingford. A Eucharistic Funeral Service will follow calling hours at 11 AM in the Church. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to: St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101 or online at www.stjude.org. The B. C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements.
