Obituary of Dorothy Burian

Cheshire - Dorothy Burian, 85, of Cheshire, beloved wife of the late John C. Burian, entered into rest on Monday, June 23, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital. Dorothy was born on July 20, 1923 in New Haven, CT, daughter of the late Herbert and Anna (Damberauskas) Johnson. She was a graduate of St. Raphael's School of Nursing, and worked at the Hospital of St. Raphael for many years. She later worked for the State of Connecticut as a psychiatric nurse before her retirement in October 1989. She is survived by her son, John Burian and his wife June of Yalesville, and one daughter, Karen Leffingwell of Plymouth. She also leaves her grandchildren, Donald Janezic Jr., Elisa Molner, and Marcus Desimone, and great grandchildren, Juliana Janezic, Victoria Molner, and Julian and Antonio Desimone, along with her son-in-law, Donald Janezic Sr. She is preceded in death by her daughter Barbra Janezic and two sisters, Mildred Draffan and Mary McKenzie, and son-in-law Donald Leffingwell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Chapel in St. Mary's Hospital, 56 Franklin Street, Waterbury, on Saturday, June 28th at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary's Pastoral Care Department, 56 Franklin Street, Waterbury, CT 06706. The family wishes to thank the ICU staff, Dr. J. Alexander Palesty, Sister Anne and Chaplain Gerry for all their compassion, care and prayers. the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements.
