Durham- Robert G. Hill, 59, of Durham, beloved husband of Karen (Toussaint) Hill and father of Robert W. Hill and Acacia J. Hill, departed this life on Friday, May 16, 2008 at Middlesex Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Robert Was born on September 7, 1948 in Meriden, CT, son of the late Donald and Mary (Stoltman) Hill. Robert was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served honorably in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a supervisor with the Meriden Water Pollution Control Facility , retiring in 2005. He was a past Commander and Treasurer of the Meriden - Wallingford Chapter #6 D.A.V., and also a member of the V.F.W. Post 591, Wallingford. He will be sadly missed by his wife Karen, of Durham, along with his children: Robert W. Hill of Durham, and Acacia J. Hill, of Waterbury. He also leaves one brother, John Hill and his wife Lucy of East Granby, and two grandchildren, Divino Gil and Brielle Jaquelyn Gil, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and his mother-in-law, Theresa Tossaint and other inlaws. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 10:00 AM in Notre Dame Church in Durham. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family home located at 28 Dunn Hill Road, Durham, CT on Thursday beginning at 11 AM on Thursday, May 22nd. The B. C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be directed to; Hospice & Palliative Care, Middlesex Hospital.
