Wallingford - Edith R. Crowe, 92, of Wallingford, and formerly of Franklin, CT, departed this life on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Masonic Home. Edith was the wife of the late John Crowe Jr. Edith was born on October 24, 1915 in Bluefield, WV, daughter of the late Edwin and Almira (Eyre) Roberts. Until her retirement she was a medical typist for the State of Connecticut. She was a 1933 graduate of Crosby High School and later attended Beaver College in PA. Edith was an active member of the Franklin Congregational Church, and was also active with the Salvation Army and Public Health Nursing in Franklin. She was very active with the Franklin Seniors and loved anything to do with the ocean. She will be sadly missed by her son, John R. Crowe and his wife Patricia of North Franklin, her granddaughters, Terri McCarthy, and Sherri Wilson, and her grandson, Zachary Crowe. Edith also leaves 4 great grandchildren, Joseph Wojtkiewicz, Rachel Wojtkiewicz, Erica Wilson, and Brooklin Crowe. Edith is preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Keyes, and brother, Walter Roberts. All services will be private. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements.
