Wallingford - Roy H. Whittaker, 80, of Wallingford, beloved husband of Madelyne "Dee" Whittaker, passed away on April 24, 2008 at Brook Hollow Health Care Center. Roy was born on September 10, 1927 in Easthampton, MA, son of the late Harry and Ivy Whittaker. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served seven years on submarines. He was an E1 Electrician and retired from Waterbury Hospital. He was a member of American Legion Post 224 in Easthampton, MA and the Fraternal Order of the Elk Lodge 1365 in Wallingford. He will be sadly missed by his wife Dee and children: Harry, Michael and wife Diana, Susan, Joyce and husband Jim and Paula and husband Jeff. Grandchildren include Michael and Amy, Tara and Ryan. He also leaves a sister, Marion Will and a sister-in-law Joyce Pankowski. Roy is preceded in death by his brother Harry. All services are private and at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the staff of Choate of Brook Hollow for all their kindness and support. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
