Obituary of Anne Butcher
Anne Crocco Butcher of Wallingford, CT entered into rest peacefully on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis B. Butcher who passed away in 1982.
Anne was born in New Haven, CT, a daughter of the late Christopher and Santina Ciarlo Crocco. She was educated in the New Haven school system and lived there before moving to Wallingford in 1957 where she raised her family. Before her retirement, Anne was employed by the Wallingford Public School cafeteria system for over 20 years. She worked at Lyman Hall High School and served as Food Service Manager for Dag Hammarskjöld Middle School. Over those years she watched as thousands of Wallingford children passed through the lunch lines. She was always happy when one of the former students saw her in town and remembered her.
Anne was predeceased by her brothers, Rocco and Peter, both of Hamden, CT and her beloved sister, Sue Vastola of Wallingford, CT who she greatly missed. She is survived by her five children and their families, Richard of Wallingford, Donna and her husband Gustave Seehorst of Enfield, CT, Bernadette and her husband Paul Williams of The Villages, FL, Robert and his wife Susan of Clinton, CT and Susan and her husband Richard Lint of Wallingford, CT. Anne is also survived by her 10 adored grandchildren, Jon and Matthew Martell, Paul and Jeffrey Williams, Danny Sadoski, Robert, Christian and Gabrielle Butcher and Ricky and Veronica Lint. She also leaves one great-granddaughter, Stephanie Jones.
Anne also leaves many nieces, a nephew and her cousins Jenny Porto and Rosalie Marotta. She is also survived by her best friend, Mickey Giordano and many other friends and former co-workers including Audrey, Lucille, and Claire.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 26 at 10:30 am at the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford. Ricky Lint will be the alter server at Mass to honor his Grandmother. Burial will be at St. Bernard's Cemetery in New Haven. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Resurrection. The B.C Bailey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
