Obituary of Anne Wargo Nagy
WALLINGFORD - Anne K. Wargo Nagy, 100, of Masonic Healthcare Center died Thursday, December, 20, 2007 at the Masonic Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late John Wargo and Rev. Emil Nagy.
She was born in Wallingford, September 20, 1907 a daughter of the late Alexander and Annie Deme Kochis.
Until her retirement she was a self-employed hairdresser at Betty-Anne's in Fairfield. She designed and patented the beauty shop product, "Tym Savr".
She was the oldest living member of the Evangelical & Reform Church in Wallingford, where she was christened. Anne was an active member of the First United Church of Christ on Clinton Avenue in Bridgeport; and a founding member of the Boynton Beach Congregational United Church of Christ, where Anne donated the stained glass window in memory of her husband, John Wargo and the steeple in memory of Rev. Nagy.
She was past matron and oldest living member of Maria Lafayette Chapter # 111 O.E.S. in Fairfield, the oldest living member of Pyremus Chapter #82 Daughters of the Nile and was a past grand chaplain of the CT Grand Chapter of O.E.S. She was president of the Leisureville Hymn Singers Organization from 1973-1987 and a member of the West Palm Beach Garden Club.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles Wargo of Irvine, CA and William A. and Peggy Wargo of Fairfield, and one sister, Emma Lucas of Stratford, 6 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her brother Alex Kochis of Wallingford and sister, Betty Clark of Fairfield.
A memorial service in the Chapel of the Masonic Healthcare Center, Wallingford will be held at a later date. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. If friends so desire, gifts in her memory may be made to the charity of one's choice. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford is in charge of arrangements.
