Obituary of William E. Brooks
WALLINGFORD - William E. Brooks, Sr., 85, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. He was the loving husband of the late Jacqueline Brooks.
William was born in Meriden, CT on March 3, 1931 to Morgan and Ruth Brooks. He grew up to serve his nation in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and later served in the CT National Guard for 16 years. William worked as a Materials Manager for over 20 years at Stanley Judd, which is also where he met his wife, Jackie. After retiring from Stanley Judd, he kept busy volunteering weekly with Masters Manna, camping with Jackie, antiquing, renovating his house, working on cars, and enjoying time with his dogs.
William will be sadly missed by his 4 sons; William Brooks, Jr. (Pamela), Gregory Brooks, Steven Brooks (Mary), and Jason Brooks (Marianne). He also leaves two step-sons; Gary Robinson (Mary Middleton) and Steven Robinson (Barbara), and two step-daughters; Debra Robinson-Sears (Henry) and Victoria Britton (Rick). William is survived by his sister Jean Lonnergon, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Other than his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother Richard Brooks.
The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, located at 273 South Elm Street in Wallingford, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Family and friends may call on Friday April 22, 2016 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Connecticut State Veterans' Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Master's Manna 46 N. Plains Industrial Road, Wallingford, CT, 06492.
