Obituary of Margaret Tanch
Wallingford - Margaret M. Tanch, 85, of Wallingford, beloved wife of James Tanch, departed this life on Monday, November 26, 2007 at her home, with her husband by her side.
Margaret was born on March 26, 1922 in Wallingford, daughter of the late Pasquale and Rose (Torello) Gaetano. She was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School class of 1940. On June 29, 1946 she married James Tanch and they spent over 62 years of loving marriage together. She was employed with Wallace Silversmith's in her early years. She was part owner of the family business Gaetano's Restaurant, where she worked for over 15 years.
Margaret was a communicant of Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, cooking and was an avid Yankees fan. Her family was the most important part of her life.
She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband, James of Wallingford. One son Brian Tanch and his wife Kim of Wallingford. One sister, Lillian Gaetano of Wallingford. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives, and special friend, Jean Lincoln. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers: John and Emil Gaetano, and one sister, Esther Gianinni.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, November 29, 2007 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Thursday at 10:30 AM at Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford. Interment will be St. John's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to MidState VNA & Hospice, 1 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the nurses, and aides that took such wonderful care of Margaret.
