Robert Granucci, 87, of Wallingford, departed this life on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden. Robert was born on July 9, 1920 in Wallingford, son of the late Francis and Helen (Conway) Granucci. He was a veteran of World War II having served as a Pilot in the Army AirCorps. He was a graduate of the Hartford Technical School and later attended Brown University. Robert was a member of the Wallingford Senior Center, where he enjoyed spending time, and taking trips. He had a great love of traveling in his spare time. He is survived by his five sons and their spouses: Michael (Lynn) Granucci, Timothy (Pamela) Granucci, Thomas (Gail) Granucci, Robert W. ( Cheryl) Granucci and Jay (Noreen) Granucci. He is also survived by his sister Helen Thomas and 11 Grandchildren. Robert is preceded in death by three brothers: Harold, Francis "Paul", and Ronald, along with one sister, Jean Haines. At Robert's request all services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. The Wallingford Cremation Service, 273 S. Elm Street, has been entrusted with arrangements.
