Ruth Carter Snow, 88, entered into rest on June 19, 2007. She was the beloved wife of the late Orrin Snow. Ruth was born on June 10, 1919, a daughter of the late Harold G. and Ethel Joney Carter. Ruth was a member of the First Congregational Church in Wallingford and had previously served as president of the Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Wallingford Garden Club, the Wallingford Senior Citizens' Center and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was retired from the Girl Scouts and greatly enjoyed travel and reading. She is survived by a son, Allan Snow and his wife Mary of North Haven; two daughters, Barbara Beverage and her husband Robert of Hamden, and Marjorie Swift and her husband James of Wallingford; a brother, Richard Carter of Massachusetts; eight grandchildren, Carolyn, Krista, Nathan, Melissa, Tamara, Jefferey, Cheri, and Jonathan; and two great grandchildren, Adam and Zachary. A funeral will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 10:00 am at the First Congregational Church, 23 South Main St., Wallingford. Interment will follow at the Bare Plains Cemetery in North Branford. There are no calling hours. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
