Obituary of Walter Swidock
Walter Swidock, 82, of Wallingford, beloved husband of Doris (Bouza) Swidock, departed this life on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Skyview Rehabilitation Center. Walter was born in New Haven, June 8, 1924, son of the late Frank and Margaret (Sujdak) Swidock. Until his retirement, he worked as an engineer at the Revere Corporation. He was a veteran of World War ll, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was very proud that his squadron escorted the Enola Gay which bombed Hiroshima in 1945. Walter will be remembered as a loving family man, who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling in his spare time. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by two sons, Bruce Swidock and his wife Susan of Meriden and Keith Swidock of Wallingford, two daughters, Dawn Parodayco and her husband Philip of Wallingford and Kimberly White of FL, two step-daughters, Ann Snyder of Long Beach, CA and Susan Nowotenski of Roseville, CA, along with a sister-in-law, Vincenza Swidock. He also leaves 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Muriel White, a brother, Stanley Swidock, and his grandson, David Hutchinson. Relatives and friends may call during visitation on Monday, April 30, 2007 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Wallingford with full military honors.
