Wallingford – Mary I. Parmelee, age 94, a resident of MasoniCare, and a former long time resident of Windsor Locks died on April 8, 2007. She was the wife of the late Nelson E. Parmelee. She was a daughter of Bingham and Eula Basden Isler, born on November 19, 1912 in Jones County, North Carolina and raised in Goldsboro, North Carolina. She was registered nurse trained at Lankenau Hospital in Philadelphia and worked as an industrial nurse at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft for many years. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Windsor Locks until her move to Wallingford. Two sons, Nelson Parmelee of LaGrangeville, NY and James Parmelee of Carver, Mass., a daughter, Judith P. Shea of Wayne, Pennsylvania, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, survive her. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Grove Cemetery, Main St. Windsor Locks. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 188, North Haven, CT 06473-0188.
