NEW HAVEN – Joseph C. Cannata, 48, of 659 Grand Ave. entered into rest on March 25, 2007. He was born in Meriden on August 20, 1958, to the late Charles J. and Lydia (Homerston) Cannata. Mr. Cannata worked as a statistician for the Wallingford Parks and Recreation offices and was employed by the Hartford Courant. He graduated from Lyman Hall High School in 1976 and volunteered as a statistician for the Jimmy V Cancer Research Softball Tournament. He is survived by two brothers, Michael A. Cannata and David E. Cannata; an aunt, Dorothy Slie of Pennsylvania; his nieces, Amber and Nicole, and several cousins, aunts, and uncles. A funeral service led by Msgr. Charles Johnson of the Church of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 29, 2007, at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford. Burial will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
