Edith L. Davis, 80, of Wallingford, departed this life on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at her home. Edith was born on August 28, 1926 a daughter of the late Frank and Rachel (Morrow) Averell. For many years Edith lived in New Mexico, but returned to Connecticut in 2005. She was an underwriter and worked for numerous insurance companies including Aetna and Home Insurance. She was also a member of the Eagles Lodge in New Mexico. She will be sadly missed by her daughters: Donna Blakey and her husband Bruce of Wallingford and Dianne Davis of Florida. She also leaves her two grandsons: Edwin and Robert Blakey. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Davis, a sister, Dorothy Averell and a brother, Edwin Averell. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street, Wallingford, CT on Wednesday, March 14th at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
