WALLINGFORD – Edith T. Dowd, 93, of the Masonic Healthcare Center, formerly of Bethany died Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Masonic Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late Harry P. Dowd. She was born in Durham, October 4, 1913 a daughter of the late Lemuel and Sarah Siefert Tucker. Until her retirement, Edith was a bookkeeper for the Greist Corporation, which became the Mite Corporation. She was a former member of Myrtle Chapter O.E.S. and the Daughters of the Nile. She is survived by two daughters, Marlene D'Orsi and her husband Vincent of Mundelein, IL and Lorraine Mitchell of Wallingford, 3 grandchildren, Paul Mitchell, Douglas D'Orsi and Suzanne Bartek and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street is in charge of arrangements.
