WALLINGFORD - Lois A. Nowlan, 92, of 1106 Ashlar Village, formerly of 89 Dart Hill Road, Milford passed away after a short illness on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Masonic Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late T. William Nowlan Sr. She was born in Trumbull, December 27, 1914 a daughter of the late Linn B. and Myra Bragdon Abbott. Lois was a home economics teacher and guidance counselor, and Director of Activities in the Bristol School System until 1966 and retired in 1979 as the Stratford Junior High School guidance counselor. She was a member of the American Retired Teachers Association of CT and the Greater Bridgeport Retired Teachers Association, and former Director of Administrative Volunteers at Ashlar Village in Wallingford. She is survived by a son, Dr. Thomas E. Moriarty and daughter-in-law, Dr. Beatrice F. Moriarty, of Chicago, IL, and two grandsons, Brian A. Moriarty and Richard L. Moriarty, one great grandson and one great grand daughter. She is also survived by two step-sons, T. William Nowlan of Fairfield, CT, and Robert F. Nowlan of Milford, CT, and one step-daughter, Karen Nowlan of Tampa, FL, Three step-grandsons, Michael R. Nowlan, Patrick W. Nowlan, Daniel W. Nowlan, one step-granddaughter, Joanna N. Losty, 4 step-great grandsons, and 3 step-great granddaughters. She is further survived by three nieces and one nephew, as well as a number of great and grand nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 3:30 PM in the activities room at Ashlar Village located on Cheshire Road, in Wallingford. Burial will be private.
