WALLINGFORD – Bernice Sherman, 85, of Tamarac Swamp Rd, died at home on Thursday, December 21, 2006. She was the wife of the late Raymond Sherman. She was born in New York City on February 26, 1921, a daughter of the late Samuel and Rachel (Katz) Funt. She had previously worked in customer service for J.C. Penny. She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis E. Woodman and her husband Russell of Wallingford, and Judith Crawford and her husband Clyde of North Bend, OR; a brother, Gerald Funt of Queens, NY; and two grandchildren, Jody Lynn DeStefanis and Gabriel Crawford. She was pre-deceased by her grandson, Ralph Adam Woodman. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service officiated by Rabbi Eric A. Silver at 2: 30 pm on Friday, December 22, 2006 at the In Memoriam Cemetery, 18 Maplewood Ave., Wallingford, The family would like to thank the staff of the Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care of Meriden for their caring and attentive assistance during her illness.
