Obituary of Henry Harold McLean
WALLINGFORD – Henry “Hank” H. McLean, 82 of Wallingford and beloved husband to Johanne (Donia) McLean, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017.
Born at home in Meriden on February 18, 1935, he was the son of the late Alice (Benard) McLean Regan and the late Henry McLean. Having come from very humble beginnings, it was through his strong work ethic and unending love for family that Hank created a beautiful life for himself and his family. Hank and Johanne shared many fond memories of their numerous travels throughout the country and the world.
In addition to his wife, Hank leaves his son Christopher (Jill Britton) of Old Lyme, daughters: Leslie (Barry Burke) of Middletown and Jennifer DeChello of Wallingford, his beloved grandson George DeChello, III of Wallingford and three granddaughters: Meredith, Paige and Claire Britton of Old Lyme. He also leaves his brother George (Rose) McLean of Wallingford, sisters: Alice (Boots) McLean Miller of Liberty, OH, Jane (Morin) of Zephyrhills, FL and many nieces and nephews scattered throughout the country. He also leaves behind his good friend, Jack Ford. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph McLean, nephew George McLean and niece Lynn McLean.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Yale’s ICU unit in addition to his healthcare companion, Jean Adams.
The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with the arrangements. At Hank’s request, all services will be private.
