Obituary of Eleanor H. Sherwood

WALLINGFORD - Eleanor H. Sherwood, 87, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017, at Masonicare Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late David F. Sherwood.

Eleanor was born on August 13, 1929 to the late Howard and Carrie (Arthur) Hallock. She worked for Raymond Engineering as a CRT Operator. She was active in the First Baptist Church in Wallingford as well as a member of the Ladies' Guild.

Eleanor leaves behind one son: Russell Sherwood of Stratford; three daughters: Bonnie (George) True of Meriden, Nancy (Rick) Walker of Meriden, and Marilyn (Donald) Bolles of Wallingford. She will be missed by 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend a period of visitation on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford. A funeral service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow at In Memoriam Cemetery alongside her loving husband.
