Obituary of Christine Mary York

WALLINGFORD - Christine York, 93, departed this life on June 5, 2017 at the Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. She was the beloved wife the late Vincent York. 

Christine was born in New Haven, CT on November 12, 1923 to the late Ernest and Michelina (Verdasco) Conte.

Christine was an ambitious woman who owned businesses with her husband and loved baking and cooking in her spare time.  She never passed up hard work when she set her mind to accomplish a job.  Chris had a generous nature and liked helping others.  Her willingness to give reached many people always in the form of her wonderful baked goods.  Chris had a love for baking and sharing all that she would prepare with everyone she knew.  Baking was not only a hobby but also the way she expressed her love and gratitude for family, friends and anyone who came into contact with her.  

Christine will be cherished in the memories of: daughters Carol Andree of Meriden and Joan Partridge of Wallingford; sister Rosina Matarese: grandchildren Nicole Alexopoulos, Lisa Wojchowski, Scott Partridge and Michelle Andree; great- grandchildren Alexis Sarracco, Tommy & John Alexopoulos, Ruger Wojchowski, Shayla Partridge, Korey, Tristan & Ethan Barton; and great-great grandchild Lucas Sarracco.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 10:00 AM at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford.
