Obituary of Beryl Lee Bloch
Beryl Lee Bloch, age 78, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Born July 2, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio, where he grew up and raised five children, he was a letter carrier in both Bexley and downtown, where he left a lasting impression on his patrons. He later moved to Wallingford, Connecticut where he married his wife and partner until the end, Miriam (“Mimi”) Hubelbank Bloch, where he served as the president of Beth Israel Synagogue.
In 2014, both he and Mimi moved to Hampstead, North Carolina, where they were active in their local community, assisted in sea turtle rescue efforts, and played music and spread his joy to local homes and organizations. They were married for almost sixteen years and spent the best years of their lives together.
Beryl was survived by his loving wife; children, Vivian, Rhoda, Daniel, and Christina; step-children, Doug, Harry, and Michael; brother, Howard; grandchildren, Christopher, Tai, Lucy, Kadence, Sebastian, Nora, Esther, and Everett; step-grandchildren, Kayla, Jack, Adam, Noah, and Hava; and predeceased by his son, Perry.
Services will be Monday, the 21st of August, at 11:00am at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street, Wallingford, CT. Burial will immediately follow at Beth Israel Cemetery in Wallingford.
