Obituary of Albert Norman Satton

WALLINGFORD - Albert Satton, 85, previously of Long Hill Road in Wallingford, passed away peacefully in the presence of family on September 4, 2017 at Alzheimer’s Resource Center of CT. He was the loving husband of the late Charlotte (Watt) Satton.

He was born in Meriden on May 25, 1932 a son of the late John and Cecile (Greenslet) Satton and a younger brother to the late Rev. John Satton Jr. of Rockville, CT.

Mr. Satton was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean War, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was employed in various accounting and auditing roles with Yale University, G.Fox Co., and Miller- Moriarty, LLC. A pioneer in the fight against Climate Change, he also owned his own home insulation and solar power business. He was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Wallingford and was passionate about social justice volunteering with Joint Action in Community Service (JACS), Habitat for Humanity, and the Town of Wallingford Homeless Shelter. He could always be counted on to help out and assist people whenever needed. He enjoyed being outside in nature and was devoted to environmental issues, serving as a longtime member of the Town of Wallingford recycling committee and advocating for environmental changes within the Methodist Church. He enjoyed staying physically active by working outdoors in his yard and garden and taking a walk every morning.

He is survived by a son: Clifford Satton of Wallingford; two daughters: Jill Harris and her husband James of Middletown and Holly Baksa and her husband John of Wallingford; and six grandchildren: Brittany Harris, Danielle Harris, Jacquelyn Harris, Emily Baksa, Hilary Baksa and Jeffrey Baksa, and a dear friend and partner, Betty Lynch, of Cheshire, CT.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9th at 1:00 PM, at the First United Methodist Church, 941 Old Rock Hill Rd., Wallingford. Interment will follow in the Church's Memorial Garden which he helped to create. Friends may call at the B.C.
