Obituary of Brenda Clarke Lewis
Brenda Lewis, 69, departed this life on October 30, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Middlesex Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 50 years to John R. Lewis.
Brenda was born in Bangor, ME on May 31, 1948 to the late Donald E. and Jacqueline (Taylor) Clarke. She graduated from Lyman Hall High School in 1966 and met her husband John shortly after. They were married in 1968 and were blessed to celebrate 50 wonderful years together. Her heart and soul was dedicated to her wonderful family. They truly were the most important thing in her life. She was loved by all who knew her and got along with everyone she met. She was "Mom" to all the neighborhood kids and felt honored to have that title. She enjoyed baking with her grandchildren and spending time with her family and friends.
Besides her husband John, Brenda is survived by her four loving daughters; Kristine Knoob (Christopher) of Wallingford, Tracey Wilson (Kevin) of Northford, Lori Lewis (Steve Weckesser) of Rockfall and Jennifer Lewis (Ian Prue) of East Haven. She will also be missed tremendously by her nine grandchildren; Danielle, Kaytlyn, Merrick, Kyle, Patience, Anthony, Kelsie, Desiree, and Payton as well as her two great-grandchildren; Lorenzo and Giovanni. She was preceded in death by her sisters Pat Isbister and Donna Hook.
A visitation for Brenda will be held on Saturday, November 4, from 11-1pm at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 So. Elm Street, Wallingford. A memorial service will follow at 1:00pm in the funeral home. The family would like to give special thanks to Constellation Healthcare staff, the Regency House staff and the nurses and staff at Middlesex Hospital & Hospice Unit.
