Obituary of Arthur J. Turpin
Arthur J. Turpin, of Meriden, CT and formerly of West Harrisburg, VT died in the evening November 13, 2017 at his home.
After high school in West Harrisburg, Art joined the military in January 1961, and was honorably discharged in January 1964, having served in Baumholder, Germany. He moved to Connecticut in June 1965, to find work, and held countless jobs there until settling with Ryerson Steele for fifteen years and Stop & Shop Supermarkets for ten years before retiring. Art appreciated prosperity working with these companies, and frequently stated that, because of these great American companies, he was able to enjoy life fully. And he did until the day he died. Art was a member of the Local 443 Teamsters (New Haven, CT), the American Legion and the Moose Club (Wallingford, CT).
Art was predeceased by his brother Paul Turpin, and his sisters Theresa Miller and Noella Jackson, and leaves family, Dale and Melody Miller, Dana and Shelly Miller, Sheana Miller, and Samantha Marseille. Sincere thanks are extended to his dependable friend Gary Corso of Meriden and to the able hands of Tom Daly and Adwoa Atta-Adu of Assisted Living Services in Meriden, who cared for Art in his final days. Arthur will also miss his bicycle, his 12 year old Subaru and his long daily walks.
