Obituary of Evelyn P Bolt

WALLINGFORD - Evelyn Bolt, 95, departed this life on December 13, 2017 at Middlesex Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late George Bolt.

Evelyn was born in New Haven, CT on May 19, 1922 to the late Ernest and Pauline (Upham) Toothe. She grew up in Wallingford and attended Lyman Hall High School. A few years later she met the love of her life, George, while enjoying her time at a square dance in Guilford. Together they built a wonderful life, beautiful family and created countless memories traveling all over the United States. Her latest travel experience with her daughter Heather included a trip to the top of Mt. Washington at 91 years of age.

Evelyn had a zest for life that was apparent in everything she did. One of her many passions included baking. Although she enjoyed creating many different confections, she mastered the art of the baking the best apple pie. Along with her husband, she was very involved in the Wallingford Grange #33 for over 60 years. Every September at the yearly fair, Evelyn was in charge of flowers and was a hostess in the dining room. George would barbeque the chicken and Evelyn would of course bake her famous apple pie for all.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter Heather Bolt (Stanley Buonagurio) of Malden, MA and her brother in law Burt (Rene) Bolt of CA. She also leaves behind her nephew Tom Bolt and her niece Ellen Bolt Catt both of CA as well as her nephews Ronald Toothe of East Haven and Donald (Donna) of Boca Raton, FL. Beside her husband, she was predeceased in life by her brother and sister-in-law, Ernest & Beatrice Toothe and her niece Janice Bacon.

A funeral service for Evelyn will be held on Wednesday, December 20 at 10:00 am at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. Interment will immediately follow at In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 19 from 4-7pm.
